Website ROI – Return on Investment

By Gary Chambers | Filed in SEO Websites

If you are in business you want to get a good rate of return on any investment you make. In ideal circumstances you will want a quick return on the initial investment. In SEO and SEM all too often the pre-occupation is with SERP’s and Traffic, because these are so easily understood and measurable. Our focus is on your Internet Return on Investment – ROI.
If you have a retail shop it has not only to pay its way, but also turn a healthy profit. If it did not you would close it. Yet many people maintain a website with scant regard to the profit it makes treating it as another business overhead, rather than a profit centre. Often when people come to us it is after spending good money on a website that looks good, has great functionality, but is failing as a source of significant revenue.
Our first aim is to understand the business model and work out how best the website can contribute to this. If we do this effectively we know that you will continue to use our services. So we do not lock you into long term contracts, but rely simply on the effectiveness of our service.
We are business minded. We want your continued custom. The only way this will work is if we help you make money. So contact us for a free SEO appraisal now.

If you are thinking of starting a new website project then think SEO before you design your website.  You will save both time and money by doing so and if your website is a business you will start getting a return on your investment far quicker.

Most people when thinking starting a website business will either start with a product they want to sell, or will find an opportunity in the market place they wish to exploit.  In any event the first stage in the process is market research to find out if you can bring a product to the market place, with the right quality and at a competitive price.  If the answer is yes then most people ask someone to build an appealing website design, with defined functionality that is “SEO friendly”.  Sometime later after the site has been launched and paid for most people start to wonder why the site is not performing as it should and come back to the issue of SEO.  If they are really unlucky they will get canvassed by one of the less scrupulous SEO Company’s and persuaded to part with serious cash, while locking them into a long term contract.  A bitter tale I have heard far too often.

A few people may get lucky and find a reputable SEO Company such as ourselves to help them, but only to find that considerable work needs to be done on their site to get it to rank well and that the designers SEO friendly site was a far cry from a well optimised site..  Changes done at this stage will be time consuming and costly – and don’t forget the lack of revenue…

The moral of this tale is simple: if you are starting a new project get an SEO input from a reputable specialist who can work side by side with your site designer and developer. Specialist SEO is an essential part of website design and if implemented at the outset will save you both time and money. After all you would not make the same mistake with a commercial, you would get someone to book your air-time, wouldn’t you?

Real World SEO

By Gary Chambers | Filed in Search Engine Optimisation

So why Real World SEO?  As an SEO consultant my over-riding objective is to obtain a quick and high ROI (return on investment) for my clients.  Each day I review the latest buzz in the SEO world as a means of keeping my finger on the SEO pulse.  I subscribe to many feeds of information to ensure I miss nothing of importance:  to keep my clients informed and their sites up to date.  This all takes time, but most of what I sift through is either junk or only applicable to major brands.  However, in this morass of information are the few gems worth noting for the majority of my clients who are SME’s.

For SME’s advice such as you really need at least one person on your website team who has sole responsibility is to monitor and improve conversion rates is absurd when there website team consists of only one person.

When we work with clients, we work with them in their world.  The Real World, where not everything is perfect.  We work with clients by getting to understand their circumstances, resources and aspirations and develop a strategy that works with them hand in hand all the way.

In the real world clients cannot wait forever for a return on their investment.  Our aim is to understand the clients’ world and get inside it with them.
